Description: St. Nicholas House was built in the mid 19th century from stone quarried in the nearby Corndon Hill, originally being built as a vicarage.
In 1986 St.Nicholas house became a Care Home for the elderly and in 2010 the building was extended to provide nursing and residential services for 49 people.
The management of St Nicholas House have many years experience and strives to deliver a quality service that meets the needs and aspirations of all nursing and residential service users.
Our Manager has proven to be an invaluable asset to our Home, and it is with her and our well qualified Team that we are able to provide the very best care to our patients.
We are pleased to admit service users for long, short, convalescence/respite and holiday stays.

Description: Our Registration Category allows us to care for:
Persons aged 40 years and above with dementia / mental infirmity requiring nursing care
Tan-Yr-Allt House provides 16 bedrooms that are fully furnished, as stated in each individual Service User’s contract. Service Users are encouraged to bring their own items of personal belongings for their rooms, subject to the items complying with fire and safety regulations. There are spacious living, recreational and dining areas for relaxing, activities and entertainment. We also provide additional quiet living space, and outdoor areas, and are in the process of developing our sensory gardens which will include raised flower beds, a vegetable plot and ample seating areas.
The Service is managed by Emma Cornelius, an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse. Our staffing team consists of Registered Mental Health Nurses, Learning Disability Nurses, General Nurses and experienced NVQ 2 & 3 qualified Care Staff. Additionally we employ full time qualified Occupational Therapists and a Consultant Psychologist who inputs into the care of all our Service Users on a sessional basis.
The home has an excellent working relationship with visiting professionals, including the local Consultant Psychiatrist and the MDT members, dentist, optician, chiropodist, tissue viability nurses, palliative care teams, speech therapist, dieticians and other professionals.

Description: Tereen Ltd was established in 2016 with only one view in mind; to ensure the best possible care is given to people in their own homes. We will live up to this promise by ensuring all our care practitioners are thoroughly vetted and trained to a high standard. Description: Our philosophy is to consistently endeavour to provide all members with the highest level of care in a safe relaxed environment, centred around them. We achieve this by tailoring the needs of the Service User via careful assessment and planning. Service Users are encouraged to participate in developing their Care Plans as needed, with relatives, friends or professionals who would wish to be involved (with the Service Users consent). We are registered to accept Service Users aged 50 and over for Nursing and Residential Care. We encourage Service Users to make their own choices (assisting if needed) so that they control their own lives. The Service User is encouraged to indicate their wishes and requests. On admission, the Service User is encouraged to arrange their own room with assistance, if possible using their own individual items of memorabilia, pictures, photos and small items of furniture.
Service Users may attend religious services either within or outside the Home should they so desire. All Service Users’ family and friends are encouraged to visit the Service User regularly and to maintain contact via letter and telephone.
All staff are trained to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all our Service Users within a warm and caring environment. In doing so, we are sensitive to the Service User’s ever changing needs.
